Miraculous Recovery
from the Terminal Case of Lung Cancer

Y.S., Tokyo Japan

In the summer of 2003, I started to feel sluggish and dizzy. I spent most of the time at home lying down. In mid November the X-ray showed a terminal case of lung cancer. My left lung was totally disabled, and it was expected that the right lung would be affected sooner or later. The doctor said less and less air would be taken in until it leads to death from suffocation. The doctor could not guarantee more than several months to live.
My family and I all agreed that we would choose Johrei, not medical treatment. We met a doctor who understood our feeling. I was prepared to meet my last moment while receiving Johrei.
My heart began to palpitate fast and breathing became very difficult. My physical strength departed from me much more. I only accepted products from Nature Farm which I tasted delicious, but I threw up store-bought vegetables and fruits. The natural food, daily Johrei, and the apt guidance from our ministers during every phase of purification such as dizziness, emaciation and swelling led me to be saved. I am deeply grateful. A year after I was given a few months to live, my once disabled left lung was taking in air, and the functioning area is gradually increasing. My right lung was beginning to be affected, but now it is functioning with no problem. My body once felt so heavy and sluggish, but I feel much lighter now which allows me to do some simple housework.

I Was Given A Few Month To Live

In the summer of 2003, I started to feel sluggish and felt there was something unusual going on. I would have difficulty in breathing after only a short walk. Even simple chores made me tired. I spent most of the time at home lying down. I had never felt dizzy before, but by September, I could not even stay standing for a short while. My whole body felt listless and I could not leave my bed all day. In mid November I went to see a doctor in order to find out what was wrong. The X-ray showed a terminal case of lung cancer. My left lung was totally disabled and the respiratory tract which is supposed to be in the middle had already shifted to the right. It was expected that the right lung would be affected sooner or later, and the doctor said less and less air would be taken in until it leads to death from suffocation. The doctor could not guarantee more than several months to live. My family and I all agreed that no matter what might happen, we would leave everything to Meishu-sama. I was prepared to meet my last moment while receiving Johrei.

A Kind Doctor

Our only concern was if we could find a doctor who can understand our feeling. My son went to ask a doctor living close by. After examining my X-rays, he readily consented and came to check on me the following day. He said because my condition was so serious, it would not matter what kind of treatment I received, if at all. He could not even say if I would live to see the New Year or the spring. We explained about Johrei and told him that I would not receive any treatments. He understood our feeling, and gave us his cell phone number so that we could reach him anytime. He also promised to come check on me once a week. We were very happy to have met such a kind doctor.

My Body Only Accepts Natural Food

I gradually lost weight and the sluggishness and difficulty in breathing worsened. I frequently urinated and had diarrhea every day. Rice and Vegetables from Nature Farm tasted delicious, but I threw up store-bought vegetables and fruits. My body taught me that when you are weak from purification, you can only accept pure food.

"The time has come!?"

Later, my heart began to palpitate fast and breathing became very difficult. My physical strength departed from me much more. Because my heart was beating so fast, I could not eat much. When the doctor came on December 15, my condition had worsened so much that he said if I have something to tell my family, I should do so while I was still conscious, because it did not seem very likely that I would live to greet the New Year. All through the night of the 24th, I had to go to the bathroom many times and I could not sleep. By early next morning, I had become so weak with no appetite that my family thought the time had finally come. So my eldest son went to the center and asked the head minister to hold a special prayer. I am very grateful for this prayer. After that, my palpitation subsided and I was able to eat some rice. Later, I felt better and started to frequent the bathroom again. I still felt sluggish and my palpitaion was still fast, but I was able to greet the New Year by receiving Johrei more than ten times a day.

"Maybe it was God," Says the Baffled Doctor

When the doctor came on January 5, he was very surprised to see me relatively calm. Using a stethoscope, he said more air was going through the respiratory tract. When we told him that I urinated a lot, he said, "That must have done good. Did you take any diuretic?" Then baffled, he said, "Maybe it was God." For several days after that, a great amount of thick yellow mucus came out through my nose. I used to always sound muffled as if something were stuck at the back of my throat, but now I felt much less congested and my voice became more resonant. I also used to have an oppressive feeling as if I were wearing a helmet all the time, which bothered me, but that went away, too, and I felt light.

Swelling and Dizziness

After that, my whole left lung became swollen. The swollen lung pushed up the ribs, which made me look deformed. With a round lump at the pit of the stomach and a long thin lump under that, I felt like I was carrying weights all over my body. I always had to lay my emaciated body on the left side, so bedsores started to appear.
January 18, around 10:30 I felt dizzy in bed. I had to cling to my blankets because my body felt like it was going to float up. It was far worse than usual. I groaned because of listlessness and dizziness. Thanks to a lot of Johrei, the dizziness was gone after four or five days. When the doctor came, he checked me with the stethoscope and said, "The left lung is working a little bit." By that time, my breathing had become a lot easier and my family felt relieved.

Six Bowls of Rice a Day

My appetite increased amazingly; I was eating six large bowls of rice a day. My urine became even darker and I continued to have diarrhea. My weight was down to 34 kg (75 lbs.), but it went up to 39 kg (86 lbs.) within a month. I was able to eat a lot in spite of always being in bed, thanks to Johrei and natural food. My body was still swollen and I could not stand straight, but I was able to walk inside the house, sit on a chair, and take a bath by myself. By April, my condition had quite stabilized. The doctor was surprised to see me normal and stronger than before. The swelling around the lung and the round lump at the pit of the stomach were gone, which he found baffling.

I Was Saved!

At long last the day came when I finally visited the center. It was in the last November, a year after I was given a few months to live. My right lung was beginning to be affected, but now it is functioning with no problem. My once disabled left lung is now taking in air, and the functioning area is gradually increasing. My body once felt so heavy and sluggish, but I feel much lighter now which allows me to do some simple housework.I thanked to God from the bottom of my heart for guiding all of our family to this path so that I was able to be there. Daily Johrei, the natural food, and the apt guidance from our ministers and caretaker during every phase of purification led me to be saved. I am deeply grateful. I also thanked all of our family to have understood how I felt and supported me in all aspects.
I would like to utilize the many experiences I had throughout this purification to spread Meishu-sama's teachings to as many people as possible in an effort to save humanity.
